Kia Ora readers today we were doing some research about earthquakes. It is important to know about the earthquakes because there is almost one earthquake every year. That why we should learn about the earthquakes because you wouldn't know what time or what day will the earthquake happen so we should be always aware and prepared what you would need and what to do.
I am a student at in Uru Mānuka. In 2020 I was a year 7 and in 2021 I will be a year 8. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

Water safety
Kia Ora readers today i'll be talking about the safety rules in Jellie park. It is important for us students here in Hornby high to know what are the safety rules in Jellie park because we are going there for the EOTC week here in our school. We can pick what type of things to do a blog post about and I picked the safety rules in Jellie park, and if i picked the Safety rules on Jellie park I have to create eight safety rules on Jellie park and write it on a google drawing or on a canvas and I choose to do it on a google drawing because i am used to using it . I hope you liked it.

Fun Run
Fun Run
Kia Ora readers this Wednesday we enjoyed the Fun Run that was created by Ms. Whaea kana. On the first week we were doing the Fun Run where we get the money for the kids can, and on Wednesday we did the Fun Run where we run on the field and get some colours on our shirts and shorts, if you don want to get the coloured powder you have to wear black shirt but if you wanna get colour on your shirt wear a white one. After we ran on the field some people did the water slide and also did the obstacle where you have to go under the hoops or over. The fun part of the Fun run was the bouncy castle where you have to race with another person. Then you will get wet with the hose or with the water gun if you want. The Teachers also gave us some free drinks to drink after we did all of the activities. We really enjoy the fun run that happens and we would like to thanks the people who organised the Fun Run for us year 7 to 10, and to show that we really enjoy the fun run here are some photos that were taken on the fun run. The total money that we raised on our class was over 500 dollars and all class were supposed to get the 500 dollars each class in our school.

Gold Mining
Kia Ora readers today here in Hurrumanu 3 we were doing a research about the Gold rush for some of you who dont know what a gold rush is its basically just Gold mining. All of us has to find 3 facts about the Gold rush and 3 facts about the Chinese miners on the inks that are given to us.
Here are the facts about the Gold Rush.
*Gabriel read gained fame and Provencal bonuses when he found a gold near the,Tuapuka river, a tributary of the Clutah river in Otago.
*The Otago provincial offerd $1000 as reward for the discovery of the payable quantities of gold reader and one of the prospector on the Tasmania people claimed the reward(equivalent to more than $110,000 today)after finding a gold on Orion, his discovery sparked everywhere and had the first Gold Rush.
* The miners use trucks to find Gold in undergrounds.
*The New Zealand gold rush began with a discovery of gold in the Coromandel area in 1852.
Here are some facts about the Chinese Gold miners.
*Chinese people used to call New Zealand Sun Cum or the New Gold Mountain.
*During the 1800s, there were many people from Guangzhou province who lived in poverty in Southern China. There was a high unemployment, the place was over populated from the effects of the Opium Wars. One way to escape from poverty is to make the families pay for their brothers or sons to go overseas and work on the goldfield that was newly opened up. Many Chinese miners went to Australia, California, but most of them came to New Zealand.
*Most Chinese people that went to New Zealand doesn't speak English. That' s why at the very place they didn't earn the European respect but a the end they did when they get the hang of speaking in English.
* The Chinese appearance, dress, language and use opium set the Chinese miners apart as different. They lived in their own settlements and even some of them had already own their own shop, the Chinese population reached about 5,000 in the 1881. Most of Chinese are all hoping to go back to there home, to bring golds but some of them died.

Protest
Kia Ora readers this week we were learning and researching about the protests. After I did the research we also had to do some task like making an question, answering the question, summarising and a lot of other stuff and here is the google slide were I did all of my task. I hope you like it!

Egg drop
Kia Ora readers welcome back to my blog today i will be talking about the egg drop last week, last week we were basically doing stuff about the egg drop challenge we have two days to make the lander for the egg and to record the egg when we drop it. On the first day we were planing on what type of design to build for the lander so the egg wont drop or crack,we made a lot of ideas and the best idea is to make an parachute so the egg will drop slowly and wont crack or break. On the second day we were allowed to collect and create the lander. We successfully found all the stuff that we need for the lander like the plastic for the parachute,Popsicle, double sided tape and a memory foam, after got all the stuff we eventually started doing the lander for our egg and my teammates are Lhysette and Linny.
Did the lander land successfully? The lander successfully land on the ground and the egg didn't break or cracked and the lander successfully land down really smooth and slow and if the parachute wasn't there it would not land slowly and there is a chance that the egg will just break into pieces and spill like what happens on some of the lander.

Gravity
Kia Ora readers welcome back to my blog today here in science we were learning about the gravity and doing some research about the gravity and after we did the research we were supposed to answer the questions about the gravity.
Here are the questions and answers about the gravity.
Is gravity the same in all planet?
-The gravity in planets were not the same because some planets are big and some planets are small and the big ones are basically have more gravity that the small once and small planets which has less gravity because their planets are small. They have different sizes because some has to be small so that the be able to carry,as there might be not enough gravity to hold the gases to the surface.
How is gravity related to mass?
-The gravity is related to mass because if the planet is small then it will have less mass and if a planet is big then it will have more mass. So, the closer the object to each other the stronger their gravitational will pull, and the Earth's gravity came from all its mass.
Calculate your weight on the other planets in our solar system.(If you’re not sure what your mass is, use a 30kg Labrador retriever.) Which planet would you weigh the most on? The least
-My weight on the most on is on the Jupiter and my weight on the least is on the Mercury.
How would your life be different if you lived on a planet with higher gravity?with lower gravity?
-My life would be different if I lived in a higher gravity because when we have a higher gravity it will be more slow and intense when we walk run or jump and there is a chance that the economy will be destroyed, and if I lived in a lower gravity there is a chance that I will be tear apart together because with a lower gravity the gravity will tear your body apart or open.
You can try to calculate your weight on other planets on this Link.
