Kiwi innovators

 Kia Ora Readers

Welcome back to my blog this past weeks we had been doing some works about the inventions that were created or made here in New Zealand like EasiYo, and pavlova. We also had to read some articles about the invention that we had pick which has to be latest 3x, For one of my inventions I picked the EasiYo, which is a Yogurt  maker. This Yogurt make is much healthier than the normal Yogurt that is there on the super marker according to the article.

Here are some questions that was there on the google slide.

Who invented EasiYo yogurt? The person that invented the EasiYo was Len Light and the reason why he did it was because he had eight children who loved yogurts but then he was worried because the cheap yogurts didn’t have that much nutrients which means it’s not healthy for the children's but then if the buys the healthy one it will be too expensive since he had 8 children's .

Why do you think they chose the name “EasiYo”?

I think they chose the name EasiYo because the Easi represents that it's easy to use and the Yo for the Yogurt.

Why does yogurt not remain healthy for very long, even in the supermarket fridge? Even though the yogurt is made by fruits sometimes it’s not healthy because of the amount of time that it has been stuck in the fridge, and as that time goes the bacteria will start to grow more and more and it will be worse and that’s why sometimes the yogurt is not healthy but if the yogurt was made at the same time that your gonna eat the yogurt then it will be most likely to be healthy to eat.

What does the word deteriorate mean? The word deteriorate means that it will get worse and worse.

What steps are required to make yogurt with the EasiYo system?

To make the yogurt on the EasiYo system you have to mix the powder with cold water, and then put some warm water on the thermos and leave it on a bench overnight.

When was EasiYo sold?

The  EasiYo was introduced 1992 at Auckland and the  EasiYo was soon sold in 2010.

We also had to create our own type of flavour of yogurt, and make a packaging   about it, I decided to pick my flavor as the boba drink because I love to drink boba.

Thank you for reading my blog I really appreciate it. Hope you liked it!

Here is the pavlova one.

Why is the Pavlova a controversial  dessert?

The pavlova is a controversial dessert because two countries claimed that they have created the dessert.

Who was Anna Pavlova?

Anna Pavlova is a ballet dancer that has visited New Zealand and Australia, Anna Pavlova was also named as a dessert called pavlova that was created here in New Zealand .

What is a meringue?

Meringue is a dessert that is sorta similar to pavlova, and the meringue was made in 1720, and the person who created the dessert is Gasparini. This dessert is made by beaten eggs and sugar.

When and where was Mrs. Mc. Rae’s meringues cake recipe published?

The recipe of the cake was published in Wellington in 1927.

Who was the first to name a large cream and fruit topped meringue cake the pavlova?

The first name for the dessert was pavlova which is a name of a ballerina dancer that has visited New Zealand.

Do you think the pavlova had a New Zealand or Australian inventor? In my opinion I think New Zealand created the pavlova because in the article it says that the creator of the pavlova was a New Zealander.

We also had to create our own design of what type of pavlova design we want and toppings, mines pretty simple it just has some cream and chocolate on it.

The last things that I picked for the Kiwi Innovators was the Spring free Trampoline, and here are the questions that were there on the google slide.

Where is Dr.Alexandra a professor?

Dr.Alexandra was a professor of Canterbury University.

What was the problem that Dr.Alexandra was trying to solve?

The problem that Dr. Alexandra was trying to solve the problem of the amount of children's that keep breaking their bones because of the trampoline, so he decided to create a safe trampoline for the kids so they won’t get hurt anymore whenever they play on the trampoline.

In the spring free trampoline design, what is used instead of springs? In the spring free trampoline design instead of using spring they used fibreglass reinforced rods.

Why was the trampoline tested with 3 million bounces?

The trampoline was tested by 3 million bounces to show 10 year of children jumping on the trampoline.

Why do you think trampoline is more popular due to covid?

In my opinion the trampoline began to be more popular due to the covid because you can use it at home without leaving the house, and some kids love to jump on the trampoline when they’re bored.

I also created a poster about the safety poster for the trampoline.

There isn't that much safety things needed because the spring free trampoline were build to give more protections than the normal trampolines that was

out there.

Thank yuo for reading my blog! I hope you enjoyed reading it!

Drama Class

 Kia Ora Readers

Welcome back to my blog this past term we had been doing a lot of stuff like the script work where wee had to memorise the script and act on the stage and my partners were Lucy,Kate and Loreen and the title of the play was Billies and so far im really enjoying drama class, we also did a ton  more of stuff like mask making where we have to make our own mask to use for the play. We also did some story telling which I kinda enjoy doing, and I would definitely do it again. We also did lots of preforming on the stage like the "Let's get lost" where we had to make play about it, and we decided to create out play to be funny and goofy, we also used our masks to do some play like poison, chairs, and statues. I also enjoyed laying the games like statues where we were supposed to stop when the person says freeze, we also did some warm ups and exploring the stage.

Skittles Colour Experiment

 Kia Ora Readers

Aim:

I want to find out what happens when I put Skittles into water.

Method:

Equipment:

  • Skittles
  • Petri Dish
  • Warm water
  • Beaker
  • White background

Instructions:

  1. Gather the equipment's
  2. Get 8x Skittles
  3. Put the skittles in the Petri Dish.
  4. Spread the skittles evenly around the outside of the Petri Dish
  5. Get the warm water and gently pour the warm water in the Petri Dish.
  6. Don't over fill the Petri Dish.
  7. Then observe and record what happens
Prediction:
I think I will see the colours go away from the Skittles and the colours will go on the water.

Results:

I saw the colour slowly goes in the middle but they didn't go into someonelse boundaries but in the end part they sorta went to someonelse boundaries, and I also saw the colours fade away from the skittles.

Discussion:

  • The colour of the skittle dissolved. Dissolved means when a solid mixes into a liquid creating solution.
  • The colour also spread out in the water. The colours were Concentrated and diffused ( Diffused means when something maybe stretches or expands out on the surface or extends on the surface) to area where there was no colours .
  • The colour did not mix with the other colour. The colours had different solubilities,

Cars and vehicles

 Kia Ora readers

Welcome back to my blog today here in hurrumanu 3 we were learning about different type of cars and vehicles. We read the book about the vehicles and the Genre of this text is article and the author of the text is Pat Quinn, and the illustrator of the article was the twin brothers who makes different types of cars and the text is mostly about them creating their own car and naming the car ‘The Stanley Steamer’ and the text is also talking about how they made the car, what things did they need to make the car and knowing how that car works, like how do they make the engine to work, and they also mention the minuses and the pluses of the steam powered car.

What are the pluses and the minuses of the steam powered car?

Pluses:Since the petrol cost had been going up and the air is being polluted by the cars the steam powered car can be the car for the  future because the steam powered car uses the Kerosene as the fuel, and if anything was broken on the steam powered car you can just take it back on the factory and they will just fix it.

If we compare the steam powered car other cars the steam powered car is was fast, clean and easier to start, and it was build with a safety device so the boiler won't explode while their driving the car.

Minuses:They refuse to advertise their cars on paper so some people wont even know the car, and if your buying one of the cars you have to pay it full payment no down payments, and the deposit was also not allowed.

The car has to be filled with fresh water a lot of times, and you have to wait for approximately 25 minutes for the car to steam and for it to work you need steam. Other cars spread rumours that the steam does explode.

My sport hero

 Kia Ora readers

Welcome back to my blog today here in hurrumanu 1 we were learning about our sports hero, and also doing a research about them, and knowing why he is my sport hero. I really enjoyed doing this research because it helps me learn more about my sport hero.

What is a hero?A hero is a person that you might wanna be when you grow up or it can be your role model or a person who shows the value of a hero like resilient or committed, heroes are just normal people who had done some extra ordinary things.

I picked Kobe Bryan to be my hero because he had been a really kind person even thou some people aren't kind to him, and  and I also like how he always smiles, I also respect Kobe Bryan because when the racism was happening to some countries the Lakers  including Kobe Bryan  had set a game up to protest the black lives matter to show that they dont need to judge the people by their colours. They also putted  I cant breathe shirt when they were playing the game, and the team that they were fighting against was the Sacramento Kings. But sadly Kobe Bryan had died at 26 January 2020.

Thank you for reading my blog post i hope you enjoyed reading it!

 Kia Ora readers

Welcome back to my blog today i will be talking about what we did in hurrumanu 1, we basically were learning about our heroes and we also used an app to use to brain storm some words what makes a person an hero, after that we had to pick one character to draw and after that we had to basically describe our hero.

I decided to pick my mom to be my hero because she had always been helping people who needed it and always took care of me since i was a child and the other reason why i picked my mother is because she had been my role model since i was a kid and i really wanted to be like her when i grow up, and i wrote my mom as a trust worthy is because she always keep my secret only to her and never tells it to someone else and that is why i putted the word trustworthy, and I putted the word caring because she always cares for my family and for other people and whenever im sick she always makes me feel better :)

Thank you for reading my blog post!
